2019-20 Data Analysis and Support Academy (DASA) Information Session: Data-Driven Instruction and Assessment for English Learners
May 23 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm
What is DASA? Is DASA right for your school? What have other LEAs learned from DASA? These and other important questions will be answered during the May DASA information webinar.
The Data Analysis Support Academy (DASA) is an academic year-long, team-based, capacity-building effort focused on developing data-based decision-making skills funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The focus of the 2019-20 DASA is data-driven decision-making related to the instruction and assessment of English learners. The webinar is intended to help LEAs determine if joining this staff capacity-building opportunity is right for them. The webinar will highlight the connections between DASA and ESSA, what commitments must be made to enroll in DASA, and what 2018-19 LEA participants have gained from the experience.
Participants will be able to:
- Articulate the purpose of DASA and the ways in which it assists educators in meeting requirements under ESSA for collecting and using data to make decisions about educational programs
- Develop an understanding of the scope of work and requirements for participation in the 2019-20 DASA cohort
- Learn about the DASA application process, including assembling a team and submitting an application
LEA administrators, ESL staff/coordinators, ESL teachers and content teachers who share responsibility for designing and delivering instruction to English learner students.
